Why N Ockham?

We couldn’t be more excited about welcoming Red Balloon’s Ockham nursery, into the N Family. Rated Outstanding, we’ve loved the collaborative process of working with this high-quality nursery group, and are so excited to be adding our own unique N extras.

While we have built several nurseries entirely from scratch, welcoming Red Balloon’s existing nurseries into our N Family is a first for us. The Ockham nursery is an already beautiful space located on a farm with large gardens; and we’re set to deliver a new refurbishment of the interior, equipping the nursery to support every element of our early years curriculum.

Rethinking Early Years Education

Here at N, we’re on a mission to Rethink Early Years, offering a fresh educational outlook to prepare children for life in the modern world. Working with leading early years experts, we’ve blended our own unique curriculum, taking influence from a variety of learning philosophies including Reggio Emilia, Bruner, Forest School and Montessori. We were recently named the UK’s highest quality nursery group and we believe that our bespoke approach, combined with the learning outlined by the EYFS, supports all of our children to play and explore, be active learners and critical thinkers.

We’ve worked with the former Head of Nutrition at Jamie Oliver, Laura Matthews, to make sure that we deliver a balanced menu that supports every child’s developmental needs. Our chefs prepare fresh meals in our cafe kitchen, everyday.

The N Ockham Team

Room Manager

Mum of 2 Gemma has been working in early years for over 10 years. She’s worked in various settings, including Outstanding nurseries and at a Forest School setting. Outside of nursery life, she enjoys exploring nature with her children: going for walks and going to the beach.

Jacqui has been working at N Ockham for 14 years! She holds a Level 3 qualification in childcare and development and loves watching the children grow into their personalities. She is a mum of 2 and has 3 grandsons. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and swimming.

Jo has 30 years of experience in early years education and has been working at N Ockham since it first opened in 2001! She’s a mum of one and enjoys spending time with her family, especially baking with her daughter, and going to see live music performances.

Nursery Manager

Kirsty has a QTS qualification, and spent time as a Year 1 teacher before moving into early years education. She’s really keen to develop her practice in specialist areas, particularly in supporting children with additional needs. She loves going on family days out and scuba diving in her spare time.

Room Manager

Lauren has over 8 years of experience in early years and has completed numerous qualifications including her Level 3 extended diploma. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and friends.

Raveen has 5 years of experience in early years. She loves to learn new things and share her skills with the children at the nursery. She has a Level 2 qualification and enjoys reading, art and spending time with her family in her downtime.
