N Family Club was founded to rethink early years education. Since opening the doors of our first London nursery in 2017, we have been having a positive impact on our children, families and team.

As N grows, our impact grows, and we don’t take this responsibility lightly. Our impact report celebrates the big and small wins, tracks our progress and holds us to account for the impact we make on the planet and the people around us.

Here are some of the report highlights, or click here to read the full report.

We’re officially B Corp certified!

As the climate crisis intensifies and societal inequality grows, the need to
bring about systemic change is clear. We must transform the way we do business to meet the magnitude of the challenge ahead, and B Corp certification shines a light on those leading the way.

We became B Corp™ certified in 2022, joining a growing number of companies committed to doing business responsibly.

We believe that a business can scale while doing good in the world. We’ve always strived to be a company that not only provides high-quality education and family experience, but believes in doing it in a way that best benefits our team, our community and the planet.

Positive futures

The experiences children have between birth and age 5 have a lasting impact that shapes their lives. The relationships, experiences and environments of those first five years are pivotal. We’re proud of the outstanding impact we make on children’s lives every day and are excited with how many more futures we can positively impact as N expands.

We launched our Positive Futures bursary in 2022. Over this last year, it has been a privilege to see our first cohort of children access an outstanding early years education and the specialist support they need to reach their full potential. In 2023, the number of bursary places we were able to offer increased from 7 to 12, a number which we hope to grow even more in 2024.

Planet

We believe that activism and impact on social and environmental issues should not be the niche, but the norm. Our curriculum is designed to build the curiosity, confidence, capability and compassion for our children to become informed and inspired changemakers. In particular, one of our key four pillars, ‘Global Responsibility’, includes a heavy environmentalism focus.

In 2023, we became a zero-waste-to-landfill business. Almost all of our nurseries run on renewable energy, and we made the switch to Pura nappies, which are made of 100% green energy, with no production waste. We are also proud to share that 19 of our nurseries achieved their Schools Green Flag Awards, the perfect way to celebrate the ecological achievements of our children and teams.

People

Being an educator is fast-paced, physical, emotional and carries a lot of responsibility, so it’s important that we make sure N Family Club is a fair, inclusive, safe, diverse and flexible place to work.

In 2023, we became a Restless Age-diverse Employer, participated in the Stonewall Diversity Champions programme, and gained our Level 1 Disability Confident award. We are also delighted that N Family Club made the Government’s Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers Rankings for 2023.

War Child

As well as supporting children in our local communities, we will be continuing our support for children across the globe through our War Child partnership.

All too often education is an easy target during armed conflict. The money we donate to War Child is mainly directed to their Early Learning and Development Centres, providing education to a generation who face a constant threat of violence and are growing up without the opportunity to learn.

Since 2017, N has donated over £200,000 to support War Child. In 2023, they reached and supported over 200,000 children. Thousands more children still need them. That’s why we’ve pledged our ongoing financial support to War Child’s vital work across Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
