At N, we believe the early years can shape a lifetime. Since 2017, we’ve been creating environments where children, families and educators thrive. Today, across 50 nurseries, we’re growing our impact by caring for people, the planet and future generations, using business as a force for good.

A family club

Our impact

When N was founded in 2017, we set out to rethink early years education. We wanted nurseries to feel like a home from home, places filled with warmth, curiosity and care, where children feel safe to explore, educators feel proud of their profession and families feel part of a community.

As we’ve grown, so has our impact. As a re-certified B Corp, we hold ourselves to the highest standards of social and environmental responsibility. Our approach focuses on three areas that guide everything we do: Planet, People and Positive Futures.

That means caring for the world our children are growing up in, supporting the brilliant teams who nurture them every day and helping build a future filled with possibility. Everything we do at N is guided by one clear purpose: preparing children for life in an ever-changing world.

The early years shape a lifetime. Through our Positive Futures initiatives, we help ensure more children can access high-quality early education and the opportunities that build confidence, communication and wellbeing.

Our Positive Futures bursary programme provides fully funded nursery places for families who need additional support and in 2025 alone, 15 children received fully funded bursary places across our nurseries.

Beyond our nurseries, our teams support their communities through charity initiatives, donations and partnerships.

Together, we raised £11,500 during War Child Week and donated over 23,000 nappies to baby banks across the UK, through our partnership with Pura and Green Bottoms.

We're B Corp re-certified!

In 2025 we proudly recertified as a B Corp, increasing our score to 101. This certification recognises businesses that meet the highest standards of social and environmental responsibility. For us, it reflects our commitment to supporting our teams, caring for our communities and protecting the planet our children will grow up in.

Expanding access

Every child deserves the opportunity to benefit from high-quality early years education. Through our Positive Futures bursary programme, we provide fully funded nursery places for families who need additional support, helping more children access the experiences that build confidence, communication and wellbeing. In 2025, 15 children received fully funded bursary places across our nurseries.

Eco achievements

In 2025, 39 nurseries earned EcoSchools Green Flags, recognising the creative ways our teams and children explore sustainability through Forest School, recycling, and outdoor learning. Beyond the curriculum, we are also reducing our environmental impact. Today, 100% of our nurseries use renewable electricity, and in 2025 we verified our carbon footprint baseline, helping us take meaningful steps towards decarbonisation.

A great place to work

Our team is the heart of everything we do. In 2025, N was again recognised as a Great Place to Work® Certified™ organisation, ranked 30th among the UK’s Best Workplaces (super-large category) and named one of the UK’s Best Workplaces for Women. Today, 80% of our team say N is a great place to work, compared to a national average of 54%.

Giving back

Community is central to life at N. Since 2017, we’ve raised over £200,000 for War Child, helping children living in conflict-affected areas access education, protection and safe spaces to play and learn. In 2025 alone, our teams raised £11,500 during War Child Week, alongside supporting local communities through initiatives such as donating over 23,000 nappies to baby banks across the UK and organising charity events across our nurseries.

Supporting career progression

In 2025, we celebrated 150 team promotions and supported 151 apprentices across our nurseries. This reflects our commitment to helping educators build meaningful careers. Through the N Academy, leadership programmes and apprenticeships, we provide clear pathways for development. We support our teams to grow their skills, confidence and leadership potential as they work in early years.

Supporting families

Through our Family Club, we provide guidance, expert insights and support to families across the N community. In 2025, we hosted 19 virtual parenting events, covering topics such as child development, wellbeing and navigating the early years with confidence. These sessions help families feel informed, supported and connected throughout their child’s early learning journey.
