Why N Reading?

We’re committed to offering you a nursery experience like no other; and with N Reading, we’ve gone all out. A sensitive restoration of an impressive period property, the nursery is filled with character while equally purpose-built to support every element of our early years curriculum. Our large playrooms are filled with natural light. There’s a specialist art and cooking room, while outside, the garden comes complete with a messy play area, adventure playground and slide.

Open Longer

We’re open 7am – 7pm, with no punitive late fees.

Rethinking Early Years Education

Here at N, we’re on a mission to Rethink Early Years, offering a fresh educational outlook to prepare children for life in the modern world. Working with leading early years experts, we’ve blended our own unique curriculum, taking influence from a variety of learning philosophies including Reggio Emilia, Bruner, Forest School and Montessori. We were recently named the UK’s highest quality nursery group and we believe that our bespoke approach, combined with the learning outlined by the EYFS, supports all of our children to play and explore, be active learners and critical thinkers.

Our bespoke curriculum is split into four key pillars of learning:

Holistic health

Self expression

Global responsibility

Inventive ideas

The N Day

Drop off

We recognise that mornings can be a challenge, and we’re committed to doing everything we can to ensure a positive and warm start to the day.

Child-led play

Children are able to freely play with our many resources including our art studio, dress-up stations and the
N library.

Mealtimes

All N meals are prepared from scratch by our in-house chefs. We have family mealtimes where the children eat as a group with their key educators.

Educator-led learning

Every day our educators will lead small group or individual sessions covering a wide range of topics, including yoga and cooking.

Outdoor learning

Our gardens provide the perfect backdrop for physical activities such as climbing, ball games and obstacle courses, as well as Forest School-inspired learning, planting and water play.

Sleep and rest

Our nursery rooms are designed to convert into cosy sleeping spaces, while children who no longer require a sleep can still relax in our designed ‘hygge’ corners.

Pick up

At home time, parents are encouraged to come in and chat with the educators and hear all about their child’s day and accomplishments.

Menu

We’ve worked with the former Head of Nutrition at Jamie Oliver, Laura Matthews, to make sure that we deliver a balanced menu that supports every child’s developmental needs. Our chefs prepare fresh meals in our cafe kitchen, everyday.

The N Reading Management Team

Maddiy

Support Manager

Maddiy has been working in the field of childcare since 2006 and holds an NVQ level 3 in childcare as well as a degree in business management. She has a deep passion for working with children and is dedicated to bringing awe and wonder into their everyday lives. She is particularly passionate about taking children out into the community and helping them to become familiar with and understand their local environment.

Michelle L.

Front of House Manager

Michelle was raised in West London and relocated to Hampshire 20 years ago, now finding happiness in calling it home. Beyond her work, Michelle's heart swells with passion for horse riding and ownership, and there's nothing that warms her soul more than watching her daughter compete with her horses. With two grown-up children who are enjoying their lives, it was a natural choice for her to re-enter the early years field, and she eagerly anticipates it.

Roshney

Deputy Nursery Manager

Roshney has finished her Dip Level 3 in Children, Young People and Workforce. With 5 years of experience, she holds a managerial position. During her free time, Roshney finds pleasure in baking, taking leisurely walks, fishing, and cherishing valuable moments with her family.
