Rowing along with the song ‘Row, row, row your boat’ helps your child’s development and coordination, especially movements which cross from one side of the body to the other. It also develops fine and gross motor skills, while strengthening memory and recall and supporting language development.
Sit opposite your child and hold their hands, or put your baby on your lap facing you. Gently “row” backwards and forwards in time with the music.
Don’t forget to squeak, scream and roar when you see the mouse, crocodile or lion!
Row, row, row your boat (rocking back and forth)
Gently down the stream
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily
Life is but a dream
Row, row, row your boat
Gently up the creek If you see a little mouse
Don’t forget to squeak! (squeek-y noises)
Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the stream If you see a crocodile
Don’t forget to scream! (a scream!)
