What you need

Balloons and a space to play.

Benefits

This is a physical activity which will develop your child’s hand-eye-coordination, balance and steadiness.

The experience

Let’s play some balloon games! Here are some ideas of games you can play with your child:

  • Set a timer and see how long your child can keep the balloon off the floor, or how long you can both bat the balloon back and forth to each other.
  • Try balancing the balloons on large cups or another object. Even young babies will enjoy seeing the balloon bounce around, or laugh at your balancing it on your head!
  • Older children can be challenged further – try to pass the balloon to each other using only your feet. Try laying on the floor with your legs in the air, and use your feet to keep the balloon up!
