Through story time, children develop their imagination, curiosity and communication. Their focus and listening skills are developed as they concentrate on what the storyteller is saying. Language and vocabulary are also developed.
Let’s get comfy and listen to the story of ‘Captain Flinn and the Pirate Dinosaurs’ by Giles Andreae, read by Rik.
Flinn is at school looking in the art cupboard for some coloured pens to finish off his dinosaur drawing, when he stumbles upon Captain Stubble, a real live Pirate Captain! He tells Flinn that his ship, the Acorn, has been stolen and that he needs Flinn to help him rescue it back. Stubble makes Flinn the captain and they sail away on an old pirate ship. Will fearless Flinn be able to captain the ship and defeat the Pirate Dinosaurs?
Why not draw a map that shows the route that the pirates took… or a map showing treasure for the pirate dinosaurs to find and go on a pretend treasure hunt in the house?
Enjoy!
