Read moreYour listening ears.
Spending time with your child while reading aloud and listening to stories helps to create strong parent-child bonds and promotes healthy brain development. Children that are read to more often have improved language and listening skills, experience stronger emotional connections to their loved ones, and gain a lifelong love of reading.
Sit together and listen to today’s story, ‘Emergency!’ Discover a different emergency vehicle on each page, from fire engines and police cars to lifeboats, breakdown trucks, rescue helicopters and more.
With bright, bold illustrations and fun, rhyming text, this is perfect for sharing with vehicle-mad little ones. Children will love spotting all the details on each page and joining in with all the different sounds, like the ‘wheee-ow’ of a speeding ambulance, or the ‘vrooom’ of a police car.
Extend the learning:
While listening to the story, try and pause the video to repeat some of the sounds and noises that are described in the book and encourage your child to repeat after you. Don’t forget that eye contact is important throughout this process to encourage your child to read your lips and repeat.
Why not listen to the story again? Children will love spotting all the details on each page and joining in with all the different sounds they have learnt.
Have fun!
