Find a nice, cosy space and listen and sing-along to the wonderful song: ‘Pop goes the Weasel’.

A penny for a spool of thread A penny for a needle That’s the way the money goes POP! goes the weasel.

Place your baby on your lap so that they can enjoy feeling close to you. With toddlers, make sure that you have their attention and eye contact. Say or sing the rhyme, emphasising some of the movements or words. Repeat the rhyme, but do so slowly and note the parts that the child seems to recognise.
