Balloon kicking

What you need

  • Balloons
  • String/ribbon

Benefits

A fun, physical challenge to get those legs and feet on the move!

The experience

For younger babies, you can tie a balloon to a string or ribbon, create a loop and put this around your baby’s ankle, whilst they are lying down, ensuring it is not too tight. This will encourage your baby to kick and move their legs to see the movement of the balloon, and is sure to provide lots of laughter and fun!

For older children, you could get them to lie down and use their legs to keep the balloon up in the air. Drop it down towards them and encourage them to kick the balloon, and be ready to kick it again with their feet when it comes back down towards them. Be around to guide the balloon back towards them if it strays too far!

Have fun!
