Choose one of your children’s favourite stories and talk about the characters and which ones are their favourite. Get creative and draw the characters from the story. You could turn them into puppets by cutting them out and sticking them onto a stick or even onto a small building brick/Lego/Duplo block.
Have a go at using the different character puppets to retell the story. See if your child can recall the main events from the story and the key things the characters said. You could extend this further by getting your child to tell their own version of the story – can they come up with an alternative ending?
