What you need

  • Acorns
  • Soil
  • Anything you can find outside!

The experience

Collect different natural objects from the world around you!

Use these objects to create different pictures, known as transient art. You can use a piece of paper for a background for this amazing artwork. Your child can try creating different patterns or even make objects using these materials. 

Take a picture once the artwork is complete and they shake off the paper and start again to create another amazing piece! Even try doing this on a large scale with a spare pillowcase or even a duvet cover and see how big your child’s imagination is. 

Whilst doing this activity talk with your child about why it is important to look after the world around us such as trees and plants. Talk about things that they do that helps the environments and anything they think they can do to help the world around them.
