Rubber Band Toy Grab

A baby grabbing toys from a box
A baby grabbing toys from a box

What you need

  • Shallow container such as a tupperware
  • Rubber bands
  • Small toys to place in the container

Benefits

Fine motor skills will be developed as your child tries to pick up the small toys, getting them through the bands. Problem solving and critical thinking will also be developed as they work out how to get to their toys!

The experience

Place the small toys into the container and stretch the rubber bands across the container in different ways such as horizontally and diagonally if possible. Overlap some bands with each other to make it more challenging and there to be smaller gaps between the bands.

Your child can then enjoy picking their small toys out from within the rubber bands.
