What you need

  • Large cardboard box
  • Socks
  • Scarves
  • Tights
  • Old cloth-like materials
  • Sellotape
  • Scissors

Benefits

  • Children will expand their physical development; both small and large motor skills.
  • The different materials will add a sensory experience and enhance their curiosity and imagination.
  • Older children could get involved and choose one of their own socks to hang on the box!

The experience

The cardboard box will act as a tunnel for your child to crawl through. Using various materials listed, cut them and stick them to the edge of the box so that they will drape down. As your child finds their way to the end or opening, they are met with different textures and colours to see, feel and manoeuvre through.
