The experience
Choose an audio/video storybook – why not choose one of our stories recorded on our blog? It’s better if it is one you have not heard before. Now, lie or sit down, close your eyes and relax. Press play.
Now, listen to the story together (just the sound, try not to watch the video). When the story finishes, start from the beginning. Turn the audio off, and just watch the images on the screen. See if you can retell the story.
This activity works best if you choose a short simple story between 5 and 10 min. Try to find a quiet spot where there are fewer distractions.
Extended learning: Talk about e-safety and the ‘dos and don’ts’ when using technology.
